Go back to the first line in my original post

I know HOG in America is different to England, but the same rules aply for all of us.

HOG in Europe want to control everything if the chapter makes any money, or to put it plainly they want to get their hands on any chapters cash. It's in the rule book every chapter here must hold a rally every year, 3 of the UK chapters got together and hold the South of England rally , for a few years it made big money. Then HOG stepped in to bank roll it " to help them make it even better " suddenly the chapters made no money, in fact they barely got back what they put in after HOG took their "expenses".
As for dealers my chapters supporting dealer gives members a 20% discount on parts, but a chrome TC oil filter in the UK costs $25. You may pay more than main land America in Hawaii but it's no where near European prices, in fact I've spent quite a bit in Kona HD . They used to have a Stadium decall on the cash register that I gave them.
Going back to dealers, I refuse to go into my chapters sponsoring stealer now after the damage they did to one of my bikes while doing warrenty work to it, and then when I wanted to trade it the derisory offer they made. I got $6000 more from the dealer I use now.

Different, but the rules are all the same? Based on what youre writing and what I'm reading in the handbook, Things are obviously NOT the same.

I'm a little confused on that... I was referring to OVERPRICED BIKES, not the P&A prices... and I dont know why you'd buy a MoCo filter for $25 when there are suppliers of better fitration products for less money than the chrome one youre gonna dump after 2500 miles anyway. FWIW... I buy black ones...

The only thing I know our chapter gave HOG some years back and from time to time is $$$ for taxes...

EVERY CHAPTER must hold a Rally? Or must hold a set number of events? Hosting events is in the handbook, but for the Hawaii State Rally that is put on by a separate committee of volunteers (most of which are members of our Chapter) and is a SEPARATE event as indicated in the handbook.

As far as we are concerned, HOG rarely gets involved with us with the exception of a couple of annual visits by the region rep, in which one trip usually means a few VIPs in the mix from the MoCo as well. (They all want to go to Hawaii about the time Milwaukee if putting up bikes for the winter.)

Sounds like youre blaming HOG for the Sponsoring Dealers ineptness. HOG didnt damage your bike, the Dealer did. The Dealer made you a lowball offer on your bike, not HOG.

So, if we can get back to the question in my original post.... do you have anything of value to that conversation?

The reason I pay $25 for an HD filter in the UK is that a K&N filter is $27 and harder to get. I'd like to pay $5 a gallon for gas but it cost $9 here. I'd like to pay $35 for Levi's but they cost $60 +
An 08 SE Ultra Classic here was $48k. I would have bought a new Road Glide in america and shipped it home but as soon as it's registered out of America the warrenty stops.

I certainly don't blame HOG for the sponsoring dealers short falls, but I do blame them for trying to rob chapters and their members. I believe anual HOG membership in England is $90 and that does not include recovery service HOG assist is another $70, doesn't affect me because I'm a life member
anyway my last comment is

Sounds like you made choices to live where you do... and thats the result of those choices.

Fuel prices have dopped significantly here... $2.85/gal at a major retailer. $3.30~ish most everywhere else... and dropping every day.

I want to hear nothing about shipping Road Glides anywhere... I'm still waiting for mine... grrrrrrr
