Question HOG Chapter question

Today, I was invited to ride with the local HOG chapter on a ride tomorrow. Normally, I ride alone, but think I might see what the local chapter has to offer. I have two questions, first we are in a helmet state so there is no choice and my lid does not meet DOT requirements. Is this normally an issue for HOG chapters?

Second question, is there normally a fee to ride? What's the norm? I need to know if I need to stop by the ATM tomorrow morning.

Thanks.

Helmet shouldn't be an issue. I've never heard of any that charge a fee to ride.

Just a word of caution. Some chapters have a goodly number of new riders, in other words "inexperienced". Be careful.

Yep, enjoy the ride.

Some local chapters are worthwhile. Others are not.

Ditto on the info about inexperienced riders.

See what they have to offer. I've never heard of a HOG chapter having a ride fee. (However, if it's a poker run or "charity" event, there will be a fee. And if you go to breakfast, etc, expect to pay. That's just logical though.) If you don't like the experience and/or people, don't return.
