This will be my first POT and I will be attending in Birmingham the end of April. I have signed up for six seminars and look forward to the experience and meeting a lot of folks from other chapters. I hope we are all able to learn things that will help us make our chapter better for the members.

First off, wow, second wow, third WOW!! Learned more from others and some from the P.O.T. Instructors, and it is well worth it, and I would have paid to attended this training. Met wonderful fellow brothers and sisters from all over the country, and exchanged ideas that I will bring home to the chapter that will benefit us for years to come. I have been all through B.S.A. training, and all the state threw at me for over 10 years, and nothing compares to what I experience for two day in Alabama. Counting the days until the one next year, and if the good lord is willing and the creeks don’t rise I will be there. One bad note was told to go to my room after playing the Native American flute Friday night, but that was only after a standing ovation from the crowd below. One, two, three, Cincinnati!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Primary Officer Training. This is for the leadership core of any H.O.G. chapter, and if space is available the membership. Two days of training, ranging from putting on events, to financial information, leadership workshops, and much more. Believe me I have been through all kinds of training, but never as much fun, as I did for two days last week in Alabama. And the amount of information given out by the staff, with instructors that were riders and H.O.G. chapter members, is beyond belief. But the best part is meeting and learning from the other 650-700 members, comparing notes, rides, events, what works for them to what doesn’t work. From chapters with over 1500 members to just chapters that have just been chartered. This was the best part. Yes we partied like rock stars, but after all don’t we ride the finest motorcycle in the world, and we deserve it, lol. I took home with me invaluable information to share with our chapter, things we are doing right and things that needed to be changed as soon as we got home. Ideas that will keep us going and riding in the right direction for years to come, and to keep smiles on all our faces as the miles pile up. And I for one, if allowed, am counting down the days until next year, and looking forward to learning more ways to have the best chapter, for our members to enjoy. Food, fun, fellowship, memories that will last a lifetime, stories to share, some I can’t share, and smiles and tears. Heck makes me want to plan a ride for this weekend, lol. Don’t knock it, just do it, well worth the time.

POT-Primary Officer Training
As Turtleman said, Birmingham was awesome. HOG really knows how to put on a training event. Nearly 700 fellow Harley riders from all over the US. The classes were great, the instructors were knowledgable and entertaining, the meals were terrific and the kickoff and closing meetings were great. This was a first rate event and if you ever get the chance to attend you must go. After talking to many other HOG officers there I found that we all have the same issues and problems to deal with and POT will go a long ways toward helping us work through them. I found we have a lot of resources available to us to better manage our chapters.
All in all a great experience.
Steve.

And Steve we will soon feel the need for a Sprayberry's run, maybe our two chapters can hook up and have a good meal together.

Lance, are you a member at Atlanta or Earl Smalls? We (Great South) have some events planned with Atlanta, in fact we are doing a joint picnic this summer. Maybe we can put together a joint event later this summer?
Let me know what works for you guys.
Steve.

We are with the Cartersville Chapter of Earls Smalls, we would love to join up with the other chapter in the Atlanta area. I do believe someone was talking of getting a ride together for the state rally this September. Heck anytime is a good time to ride, shoot me a pm and I will send my email address.
