Talking US Road Trip

I am interested to know if anyone can recommend a round trip for a tour of the USA using the HOG Fly & Ride programme. I was planning on about ten or fifteen days and would prefer the dry states (no rain, not booze). I know nothing about America except that its somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic.

Here is the fly and ride program for Harley-Davidson. I would recommend if you want the dry states(you didn't say when you were coming, so be aware these dry states are hot May-Sept!) you fly into Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.

From there you can make a square up to Colorado, over to Utah, Nevada, California, back to Arizona, back up to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Fabulouse sights not to miss on this route are the Grand Canyon in Arizona, and the Southern part of Utah's landscape...all of it!!

If you go to Harley-Davidson.com you can also find "Ride Plan" and plan it all out with each stop, mileage, etc.

Have fun!

Thanks for tips!

I was planning to go to TO Stanley in El Paso anyway to pick up a pair of drug-dealer's boots and I also want to take the Williams train as well as see some of the old Route 66, so I think your plan is perfectly good one for me. Just got make sure I don't try to do too much riding so that it becomes a chore.

I live in the desert here so I know the drill. (1. Travel early and take a long siesta during the heat. 2. Drink as much beer as possible, whether you want to or not!)

HOG usually puts on a couple of trips in the western states every year. They should be out soon.

Not HOG but still

Did a tour in "the hot states" two years back.

We flew into Las Vegas, did Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forrest, Hgw 191, Scottsdale (don't miss it, beautiful town but it's female inhabitants make a stay really worthwhile ) Then Wickenfield, part of Historic Route 66 back to Vegas.

Get some friends to come with you. You'll never forget this trip!

New Mexico and Colorado can be beautiful but weather is risky Oct thru march altho I have ridden many times in those months. Big Bend NP in Texas and then to the Hill country.....Oklahoma, Kansas, Neb are not that great for riding but I love the middle southern states. AZ is great as is Arkansas, LA, Mississippi, and southern Mo. I have ridden to and traveled thru all 48 and I still love the Texas and NM rides the best. Co is great if you beat the crowds. Have fun and get a map and plan (but not toooo much cause you want some adventure!)
