Best guess? Membership renewal....

Hi,

I joined H.O.G. back in 1999 or so when I bought a Buell.
Then joined B.R.A.G. after that.
Then let my H.O.G. membership lapse since I had a Buell and saw some redundancy.
Then found that my V.I.N. was tied to the H.O.G. membership so I couldn't access the H.O.G. member pages even though my B.R.A.G. membership was active.
I then let my B.R.A.G. membership lapse for a couple of reasons.
I now have recently purchased a used Harley-Davidson and the dealership is giving me a free 1-year H.O.G. membership.

So, best guess time, do you think H.O.G. will see it as a renewal with my old number or will they give me a new membership number?

Second question, when someone buys a new to them used bike which might have had the V.I.N. used by someone to activate their own H.O.G. membership, when the new owner goes to use that V.I.N. number will the H.O.G. membership system see it as dual ownership thereby causing membership problems for the new owner of the bike? Just curious.

I'm going to dig out my old H.O.G. card this weekend and have it handy for whenever my new membership gets started.

I'll probably either join up my wife as an associate or will have her join using one of the Buell V.I.N.s . When I was a member before I thought I activated her associate membership and there was supposed to be something about Ladies (Ladys? sp?) of Harley for her, but I don't think we ever saw anything for that. Oh well.

Thanks for any input or guesses. When I find out the answers I'll try and come back to this thread and post an update in case anyone is still interested in the answer.

Thanks, I'll do that in a week or so once the dealership has had a chance to do all their paperwork (and once I'm sure I can find my old card).

I believe they will treat it as a renewal and you will keep the same membership number. I am a director for a chapter and if you send me an e-mail at rhickam@yahoo.com with your name and zip code I could check it out and let you know what your number is. Would only take me a couple of minutes
