Anyone going to the Canadian National Rally?
Hey everyone, we are heading for London,Ontario this Thursday, wondered if anyone else on the board was making the trip. Not quite the PD13, but looks like a fun weekend.

And maybe thats what I don't get.. I belong to 2 HOG chapters here in Ohio- one where I work, one where I live.. I saw the Nats in London, and went..sweet...short ride around the lake, and might be in BC or somewhere next year and only have so much time off work!! My chapters..zzz....one is going to MI, the other(closer one)..NY.. yet they would jump all over a Nationals down here within 6 hours.
As far as London..been there lots, grew up in TO, I'm going for the ride, and as far as price..60$ each to pre-register, 3 nights in the hotel (spent that all the time with my kids playing sports-$300 or so- family time, so you spend the money), time with the scoot, and my wife, and the fact the moco does at least acknowledge you at all means a lot to me- priceless in fact. I have been happy about the stuff they do, that the metrics don;t..the mileage program, ABCs, etc..HOG itself is a cool thing, maybe its only a pin, or a patch, but I had over 250K on my last metric when it retired..and pics from everywhere..guess what they sent me?///Oh yeah...nothing......
Can someone explain this to me? We ride these bikes because we choose to- everyone on this board could easily buy 2 or 3 metrics, yet we pick HD, for lots of reasons, and then complain about what they do, or don;t support it, yet it is WAY more than you get from anyone else?
Sorry for the rant, but it is confusing me..was at a poker run yesterday, and overheard a guy complaining about the price of the 'food only' ticket(obviously didn;t ride the run for whatever reason- but came for the band/food/beer)..yet was wearing about $300 (rough guess) of Harley branded gear...
We all like to say it wasn;t like this before..but yeah, it was, I couldn;t afford a HD 20 years ago, they didn't change, I did, so now I can. I wanted one then, made my call, still wanted one now, and did it, and loving it...clunky trans, noisy engine, et al..

Thankyou to our Canadian HOG brothers for having a great event, some things could have been better(the entertainment on Sat night-but we were beat anyway; the prizes (when your local chapter has more door prizes and poker run prizes, you kind of think..Hello!!), but other than that GREAT!! Good food on Thursday and Sat nights, good rides setup, dirt track racing with the upper closed in deck reserved for us, free slot money, which the OL turned into more, shuttle buses around the city for after riding time and great people!! We went by ourselves, knowing no one there, and had a great time meeting people and enjoying the whole experience.
They announced NO Canadian Nats next year..everyone to the 105th!!
One thing I was amazed at, so many guys I met had lost thousands of dollars on their bikes due to the exchange swinging back towards par, they just shrug and say, I'll ride this '03 (or whatever) forever. One guy lost $1800 between when he ordered his bike and when he got it..talk about brand loyalty,,whow..

glad you had a good time...that's all that counts.....i heard from a friend of mine who went and said the flat track races were outstanding...food was good...weather was great and the beer was cold...
yeah true on the exhange for those of us who have bought back in the day..i mean a 2001 road king cost me 4500$ more than a new 08 eglides! all due to exchange....the new harley buyer who has no trade is getting a real deal!
