I dunno ya'll. When I picked up the glide in Beaumont, the stealer sales dude said the 1 year free membership they gave me was only good at their chapter. I live in Mississippi. Okay, so you ask how come I went to Beaumont for my glide.
Earl told me I could camp out for three days but even after camping out he could not promise me a change order. Me and my ego, I just HAD TO HAVE the blue glide. Anyway, that sorta shook my imagoe of HOG.
I could be wrong, I'm a man ain't I? So, what's the benefit, other than maybe a 10% discount and invites to rallies?

We're talking about 2 different memberships here I think... The factory gives you the national HOG membership for 1 year when you buy the bike. The dealer can choose to give you a 1 year membership to their local chapter for free when you buy a bike from them...

Yeah,
Probably so.
Do they have a website for H.O.G.?
Maybe in there somewhere I can find out exactly what I have (or don't have).

Keep her greasy side down and in the wind!

www.hog.com - easy enough huh?

When you buy a brand new bike from an authorized H-D Dealer, you are automatically enrolled into National HOG. Your membership is created with the same paperwork that the dealer sends in for the bike's warranty. This one free year of membership with National HOG is courtesy of the Motor Company. Some dealers also choose to throw in a free year with their local chapter. To become a member of a local chapter, you first have to be a member of National HOG. So basically, if they enroll you in a local chapter, you are already a member of National HOG.

By reading my previous posts, you would think I work for HOG. Thats because I do I'm writing these posts on my own time from home though, because the administrator of this site decided to block access from the HD Corp HQ in Milwaukee. (just a bit strange imo) So please don't innundate me with questions, I don't ask you about your job on your free time! I'll try to help a little bit here and there when I can.

As far as HOG's benefits, if all you plan to do is buy parts and go to a rally every now and then, you aren't taking full advantage of what's available to you. One Fly and Ride rental (HOG members only bike rental in select locations in the states and beyond) VS a rental that the public could purchase (much more expensive) will save you enough money to more than pay for your membership at $40/yr. Not to mention reimbursement for money paid on a completed Safe Rider Skills course.

Those are just a couple things that makes it worth being a HOG member.

For more info, check out the website above or look over the membership manual that came in the package with the HOG Touring Handbook and pins/patches etc.

So...If I don't fly anywhere because I ride then HOG is not worth the $$$?

If the price of ordinary rentals is reduced, that would be nice. I could reduce the rental rate for a friend.

Fly and Ride is just a name for the Program. It is actually only the bike rental itself. You can rent a bike in your own city if you want (to demo a model etc) if your city has a Fly and Ride dealer. Fly and Ride cities:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/ex/ho...oc=mbene/cando

Bear in mind that most Fly and Ride locations only carry Touring models such as the Electra Glide Classic in their F&R fleet. (Overseas fleets only have FLHTCUI's). This is because most Fly and Ride renters are on vacation and would like a nice long ride in comfort. Mileage is unlimited also.

That is just one thing. Seriously, if you would like to know more about anything HOG related, call us at 1-800-CLUB HOG (258-2464) M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Central. You might even talk to me.

Hi Chris,

I think it has something to do with the fact that the MoCo has been threatening DP with lawsuits.

Chris, I was thinking it could be the moco blocking so you don't give us any insider trading or secrets.

haha I did sign a confidentiality agreement with the MoCo when I was hired, so of course I know what is public info and what is not, and what can happen to me if I don't follow that agreement. By the way, the ban on the MoCo's IP was instituted by this website, but dprice is working on lifting that ban (Thank you dprice!)

It's a bargain if you compare it to Corvette Museum Lifetime Member, which is $1500!

Agree with Breez, the HOG Lifer is a great deal. Was given my Corvette Museum Life Membership and a brick as a gift. Wouldn't have ever bought 'em. The 'brick' maybe, the membership, Nah!!

Ride safe !!!
