Was looking at a used 2004 VRSCB in silver annodized aluminum, great condition with 5K miles on it. It appears to be all stock. Dealer had it priced at $11,495.
$10k should be easy to find all day long. If you get serious about the V-rod let me know and I can help ya out (I am on a V-rod forum and there are always some for sale there and leads on others).
Most V-Rods on Ebay have brought just under $10,000. Many times there is not a sale, the reserve is set higher than the higest bid. That may indicate the market for used V-Rods is depressed and you can dicker down an asking price quite a bit, at least this time of year (winter).
Like someone else said check out v-rodforums.com this is a very hot topic on that board. Also, you can find some absolute steals on v-rods on that board.
The v-rod market became depressed shortly after they hit the market and never recovered. One of these days I'm going to pick up a "used" v-rod which is usually a 2-4 year old bike with under 5K miles that someone has put at least $20K in. . .and can be bought for $9-11K.
In Canada you can pay $14-$16000. I would suggest buying new as the night rod special is only $19000 brand new here. The V-Rod will be the last bike you ever buy. To me the V-Rod is the bike of all bikes. If I can also suggest don't buy the VRSCD as the feel is just ackward with the mid-mount foot pegs.
I have an 06 v and called around in 07 looking for a new 06 left in stock, I ended up paying $14k for mine brand new that one seems a little high to me for an 04
