I bought a VMOD exhaust from a US gentleman - help Mike ? !

Hi

I bought a VMOD exhaust from a gentleman user of this forum in the US at the beginning of Autumn last year and since then ive had my pc stolen and obviously all emails lost.

I believe his name was Michael ( damn my memory ! ) and I need to get in touch with him because ive forgotten what other mods I need to make in order to make the exhaust work correctly on my rod.

My name is Peter Haines, I live in Wales in the UK. I hope this jogs someones memory

Thanks

Pete

To finish it off right you need a pcr3 and se air filter.

Which V-mods did you get? Depending on your set up you may not need the Power Commander (although it couldn't hurt.) You can check for more info at

I have the 03 as well with the V-Mods, SE filter and the PCIIIR. Originally Steve had indicated on the V-Mod.com website that the PCIIIR was not necessary, however that recomendation was changed at some point to include the PCIIIR and there is a stock map available for the configuration mentioned. There is also a map if you already have the ECM Stage 1 update from HD.

In addtion to the website recomendation update, Steve strongly recommended that I get the PCIIIR (even if it was not from him) because I had the "flat spot" around 4000 RPM, and the V-mod with just the SE filter would have made that "problem" even more noticable. Note, not all V-Rods have this problem.

Bottom line from a user perspective - the bike runs great, sounds great and retains the stock look - and no flat spots in the throttle. Best update that I could have made. The fuel mileage suffers only slightly - well worth it!

My 2c. Good luck!

Peter,

You bought the V-Mods from me The only change you really need is either the SE map for the slip ons or a PCIII to adjust the fuel curve. Both of them should include the SE air filter.

If you don't upgrade the air filter then the pipes will work OK but you will be a bit on the lean side.

The best "bang for the buck" would be the SE air filter and the SE flash for the slip ons.
