odometre question..help!!

Hey guys i'm a newbie here as I just discovered this great forum!!

I have a 100th anodized and LOVE it .... but my question is my buddy is looking at a 2002 V Rod that we think it may have been in a crash and rebuilt... my question is we suspect the VSS or speed sensor was not working on this bike or disconnected as it seems to show more wear relative to the low miles on the clock 2376 km's ...any gurus here know if this is possible?? with the bike not throwing a CEL ? or is a simple disconnect possible where your speedo and odometre quite and what should we look for before making the deal??

Can't help you with the odometer ?, but I would tell your friend to stay away from that V-Rod! If you're not getting a "Warm Fuzzy" about that bike, that should tell you something. Hope this helps...
