Running Topless (The bike)

I have been reading a lot about running without the airbox cover, I know that I would have to richen the fuel manager, and maybe change the v. stacks to match the flow to the exhaust, but does this really increase airflow, and HP? Seems to me the snorkle would act more as a ram air and deliver a more consistant flow to the stacks. So for now I just added a high flow air filter and left the air box stock. To me sounds more like a fad runing topless, but am looking for some people who have done it, ad what they found worked the best.

Dyno's don't seem to show a measurable difference and mine has just the SE flash for pipes and filter. However, if you look at the size of the opening of the snorkel in the lid, removing it as a restriction should help and can't hurt. I just cut the front off of mine and put it back on. Also gives a place to mount my DGD and ballasts for my HID headlights.

I first went with the airbox cover topless then I bought a extra cover and removed the front of it. This reduced the engine noise by quite a bit. I may try going back to the original airbox cover but the PCIII was set up for topless.
