Unhappy Stubborn ECM Connector.

Im in the midst of my PCIII install and the ECM stock connector will not come off the module. I press on the tab to release it but it won't clear the locking tab to release. Very frustrating. I don't won't to break the connector. I tried using a screwdriver to help it clear the locking tab but no luck. I guess my next step is to remove the battery and try and get behind it ?

Anybody else had this problem ? Fix ?

There is no secret to this. You need to clear the locking tab to pull the connector off. You can examine the connector on your PCIII to see the design.

If you can't clear the tab you can't get it off. A little gentle pressure with a screwdriver will help get it clear, and if you have to, there are only 4 bolts holding the ECM in the bike. You *should* be able to remove the ECM to get to it with minimal work.

Thanks RJ. I wrapped some masking tape around the jaws of my channel locks and used it to lightly squeeze the connector tab and that did it. Project complete, bike runs great.
