Anyone Relocated Inspection Sticker
Looks like it could be done on one of the 2 frame bolts as well as help hide wiring there. Im about as handy mechanically as... oh I dont know, I am just not
Anyone moved it or know of a kit made for the V-Rod. On my Night train it was easy to do...

New York State law states you can put the sticker any where on the left side of the bike I know this because I hold a NYS motorcycle inpectors license. they make chrome sticker mounting plates that can mount just about any where

2 things. My dealer and a local bike shop said otherwise. While I dont disbelieve you, I have 2 other shops saying otherwise. My dealer would not do it about 2 years ago, so a local custom shop did. I can ask the dealer again, but the custom shop said it has to be near the forks just this afternoon. Is this information available online from a reputable source?
Second, still cant find anywhere to easily mount the plate on the left side. The plate is readily available at my dealer, where to mount it isnt...

I will get the old procedure book out tomorrow if I remember and find the section on placement of the sticker
I have been doing motorcycle inpections for over 20 years and I have placed many in the rear of bikes

I checked the rule book and it turned me into a liar.....
as of may 1989 the sticker must be on the left fork, unless the fork is covered, and then it can be on the left front closest to the fork... good lesson learned for me I should read the updated rule books....

Bummer, thanks for checking. Best spot is on the frame behind the forks where it will hide the wires there too. Ill have to dig into unless ChopperSteve wants a new project. Should be EASY to do for a guy like him, or anyone with some technical skill (not me)

Could I get a picture of that please?
Anyone else? I cant believe with everyone here and all the sick cash and mods we do, that one person has relocated the inspection sticker?
ChopperSteve, seen it, have any ideas on it if you have a minute?

I see where your talking now, you can skip it if you like, unless someone else wants to see it. I would rather be on the proper side, left, to avoid getting pulled over... Your spot is best obvious one though.

When I purchased my 2002 V-Rod from the dealership last July, they said it was alright to put it under the seat, If you can believe that. Although this is West Virginia, I cant speak of other states.

I am not from NY but in VA we do have inspection stickers and I mounted a polished plate on one of the bolts for the front caliper, works for me. You could always try the reflector covers the fork thing and see if that works. I am not too sure about under the seat thing, though.
Dave
P.S. If you want a pic send me your email address and if you want a plate let me know and I'll pick one up for you at the local Dealer.
