If anyone is interested...and wants to do the same.
I bought the tall sissy bar from cycle visions, 3o inch.
I removed the back pad from the standard sissy bar from my vrod.
I got a couple of steel screws and went right threw, to the holes of the original bar. Works great...for bringing along some gear for a trip....
