Taller Sissy Bar ??
I have the Sundowner seat with the Harley low sissy bar and the anniversary pad. My wife kept complaining she was not comfortable on the back. Finally, I crawled up on the back and found that most of the effective seat was taken up by the bar pad. I thought about it several days and decided to make an aluminum plate try try the pad in a higher position. I originally thought that 3 " higher would be good, but ended up having to raise it ~4.5" before she felt comfortable.. Now that I have experimented and found the sweet spot, does anyone know where I can get a taller bar of say 4.5" to 5.5" that will fit the stock pad and VRod mount plate???? Well I see no responses. Is anyone else having this problem??

My wife complained about the ride once also....
So I took all the bolts out of the sissy bar and we went for a ride.
She has stop complaining about the sissy bar and for that matter everything else too.
Just (dreaming) kidding!!

Sounds like you guys got a way cheap, I've taken my wife out a couple of times and now we have several Dealers (all at MSRP) looking for a Gunmetal FXDL for her. I wish I could have raised my pad and gotten away with that, it would have been cheaper.

Darrell: I did the same thing to our bike.I made a sissy bar extension that fit over the oem one, It raises the top of the backrest to 13 inches, I can switch back to stock in 2 minutes and no bolt holes will show, I have tried to post pics, but I just can't get it right, as soon as I figure it out, I will edit this post and add the pics. I know this doesn't help right now, but I wanted to let you know there are others out here with the same problem. BTW my wife is comfortable now, and I am much happier. Russ D

RussD,
In the post reply area at the bottom you will see an attach file box. If you have the digital pic on your hard drive somewhere you can simply push the browse button and go find your pic on your hard drive. It will just put the location in the box. When you submit the post, then the pic will come up. I am interested in seeing your design..

Darrell: I guess the resolution is higher than what is allowed, now I have to take new pics, or figure out how to reduce the res. Hang in there, I'm kind of new at this computer stuff, I will get my son, he is a computer engineer, But when he helps me, I have to let him ride the V-rod, the problem is I need alot of Help, and he rides more than me. and another, I used 1/2 inch OD X 11/32 ID mild steel tubing, the heavy wall allows you to bend this with a tubing bender, without kinking it, I then buffed to a brite chrome like finish, and coated with clear coat, this piece will eventually get chromed with some other stuff from my 55 Chevy. the lower additional holes are drilled and tapped into the OE Bar, not all the way thru. It is very solid, I have since added a 2 inch X 3 inch silver finish Bar And Shield in the center of the back rest, It covers the off center stamped one that shows in the pic. P.S. I paid 4.00 for 36 inches of tubing. Russ
