Night Rod Special too long

I took a demo Night Rod Special for a test ride and found the forward controls very uncomfortable. They are too far forward for my shortass ed legs. Is it possible to fit mid controls off one of the current VROD models(forget which one) to the NR Special? There may be issues with the exhaust.

Anything is possible.

There are quite a few folks who have traded the parts to make it work.

The frames are the same, and you can get the mid controls from a 2006-2008 VRSCD (Night Rod). You need to swap the right side frame rail (Since the brake master is located there on the DX, but not the D), Master Cylinders for the rear, brake lines for the rear, Shifter assembly and shifter pedals. I *think* it's easier to swap the right side engine mount, but I'm not entirely sure.

If you go to a place like 1130cc.com or v-nation.com, where they talk V-Rods all day every day, you'll probably find someone who may even swap with you strait up.

The best of BOTH worlds is to fit the bike with DUAL controls. I've seen that done on more than one occasion. Add mid controls to the already present forward controls.
