MY LAST SUCK Mobile

Hi all,
Brand new here but time to get the word out. I have a VRSCB and the speedo is fogging. I call harley have a pic taken and they deny responsibility even though the bike is still under warranty with only 1700 mi.. This bike not only has a bad speedo but the seat was sown crooked which was again denied by Harley. In addition the frame rail under the air bonnet was never sprayed properly. I own 8 cycles now including vintage Kaws, BSAs, Honda, and have owned 3 other Harleys. So sad but I must say I hope Harley goes belly up. I think all of us need to regroup here and buy fine quality machines.
BTW I own a 2007 Hayabusa. The quality is unmatched. If U all have any ideas as to how I may fix the speedo (Harley wants $150) I'd sure appreciate your input.

Most of the fuel gages in the Electra Glides do that too. They took the same Screw The Customer attitude on those.

I know of no way to remedy this. I'd bet if you spent the $150 to get a replacement the chances of it fogging are just the same. It pisses me off too. FFS how hard can it be?

You know these things can be taken apart pretty easily. I know it says "unserviceable." But, When I changed my Faceplate, I took it apart. When I changed the backlighting, I took it apart. When it fogs, I take it apart. There is an antifog coating on them, but I don't see it working so well. Some say RainX fogX is the way to go, but I always just use the stuff from paintball masks. Works better than most stuff I've tried.

Just a thought.

is it possible to drill a small hole in the back of housing to let it vent..
had the same problem with an auto headlamp from being too tightly sealed..
drilled a small hole in the housing and cured it right up..lets the air inside breathe with the outside air thus not allowing a fog...just a thought..

My solution to two speedo changes and one gas gauge change on my 1998 Dyna was to scrap the Harley OEM parts and buy Dakota Digital Gauges. No more fogging, plug and play units, fantastic quality and the bonus....They look real good too.
