Power commander

i have a 08 nightrod special with supertrap slip on exhaust on. still have the stock air filter, haven't added my new KN high flow filter on yet.
the reason i am asking is that do i need a power commander on the bike with slip on exhaust pipes? i know that the " computer/ brain" regulate 25% + - regarding fuel / air. i have been told for maximun performance , "yes you need a power commander.."
any sharp brains out there that knows more about this then i do?

even with "just" the slip ons you will need some sort of fuel management controller. I am sure everyone here will give you there idea of what is best. Power commanders have come way down in price and are plug and play. I don't use one , but I know a lot of guys that do. all are happy. I use a gil's box, which is like a cobra fi or any of the other dial style tuners. If you don't do something you will have a lean problem. do the air box mods and you will really have a lean condition . Try FUEL MOTO. good prices and great support. Tell them what you did to the bike, and they will send a pre-programed PC3 .

P.S. don't waste time on factory flashes to your stock ECM, they don't have one for pipes and a K&N. They have one for screaming eagle pipes and air filter that is close, but it will suffer up high. (been there)

I"m not sure of a HP Number since I dynoed after I did the mods. I run a topless airbox, Gutted Screaming Eagle 16 gauge pipes and a tuner. I pulled 113hp at the rear wheel. The sales ads say 115, but that is at the crank. I can't break that down for you NRS, I not sure what sytem you use over there for HP readings. I will tell you I regret going topless. Alot of "suck "noise comming from under there. I should have just cut vents in it like guys do now. Same gains , less noise, and you dont have to relocate the MASS.

According to Chopper Steve at V-mod your setup is one of the best, especially for power up high. With the PC111 and the K&n you should get +12 or in that neighborhood. Pretty impressive for a relatively small investment. From here HP on the Rod gets expensive.
