What are the differences between 2007, 2008 and 2009 HD V-Rods?

I was curious to know what the main differences are between 2007, 2008 and 2009 V-Rods.

Can anyone lay it out for me?

Thanks!

Shawn

OldMsocko is an unknown quantity at this point
I think the 2009 V-Rod is quite a bit faster especially if it is black.

The 2007's had 1130cc motors. In 2008, all of the V-Rod family gets 1250cc motors. There is a slight modification in the in the machining of the head, which boosts compression just a bit. I forget the exact numbers.

In 2007 you saw the AW and DX get 240mm rear tires. That carries through to todays bikes, wide tires on skinny belts.

2008 introduced the ABS option for the V-Rods just like the rest of the HD line. Along with the ABS stuff, the axles are a bit smaller in diameter as well. I forget the exact specs on this too. The fork lowers on the 2008 are different than the rest of the V-Rod line previous as well.

2007 and up all have 5 gallon gas tanks from the factory. The rear portion of the bike has different geometry than the earlier versions, and therefore the seats, fenders, and rear seat accessories for 2007 and up V-Rods are not retrofitable to the older V-Rods.

The 2007 and up have a clutch switch and neutral switch so you can no longer start the bike in gear. The alarm system in 2007 went to a hands free passive RFID type transmitter. No more push to arm push twice to disarm.

In 2008 I believe the re-designed the front head breather tube, again. Hopefully this time it stops leaking oil.

I'm sure there are other things that I'm missing between 2007 and 2008. I don't believe the 2009 specs have been released yet, so I can't comment on those. When they are released, We can talk a bit more.
