V-Rod Question

Factory Demo Trailer is in town. I'm a long term FL guy, only had Road Kings and Glides. Really been looking at the VRods for a while. I show up, grab a Night Rod Special. Sat down, I'm tall, so loved the stretch that others complained about. Out of the lot, Hated It. Once I got out to the four lane, it was fine, lots of power and all, but the lower speed handling was terrible. Just felt hard to push the front end.

So, the staff said not to form an opinion on the family without riding the VRSCAW. Got on, hit the road, Loved It. So, now, I'm looking at the stats, and most everything, including the rake is the same. So my question is, do the short drag handle bars make that much difference. I just felt like I had to push the front wheel on the Night Rod.

By the way, if you have the chance, I highly reccomend the Screaming Eagle Dyna. Pure driving machine, and it looks good too.

The drag handle bars make a big difference. If they are changed for the Nightster black handlebars, everyone says the handling is markedly improved. The special is for those who like dragster handling, but can easily be modified.

I like the low speed manuvering of the V-Rods. They are indeed "lazy" at lower speeds, but stone stable at high speed. The Dynas feel squirrely to me........

I thought the DX is a much smoother ride. Easy to maneuver with the bars. Said in a previous thread, that maybe midcontrols would be nice. But I'm short . I compare my thought with a 2002 VRSC.
