Speedo calibrator preference?

I posted this in the "Transmission and Primary" forum but didn't get any answers. Maybe it was the wrong place. So I'll try it here.

Looks like I have two choices for speedo calibration after my installation of a Baker DD6; S&S or Dakota.

Right now, I can get a new S&S for $100 or a Dakota for $90.

Which do the professional Harley mechanics prefer? Or is there a preference?

Hey Ken. I use the Dakota Digital all the time now. Haven't failed me yet in the dozen or so i used. I now set them up with GPS. Makes it sure simple. other wise good old fashioned yelling to the buddy riding next to you will work.

OH, BTW, you are in the vrod section....

I have the S&S unit, but I'm not real happy with it. It seems to glitch now and again.

Thank you, TXChop. I think I'll just go for the Dakota.
Looks like I can hang it ouside the saddle and click the switches up/down as I ride and watch my gps until the speedo matches.

Ohmigosh! And I thought I was in a general motorcycle discussion section.
I get lost on the motorcycle occasionally, too.

Oh, and before I get outta here, I completed my DD6 installation. Had fun and love the results. The one special tool I needed was the monster 1-7/8" socket deep socket . The rest I made out of bolts, nuts, big washers, other sockets, and PVC couplings (to press bearings in and the like).

Thanks again.

Ken

No problem Ken..Yup, leave the sidecover off...Set the cruise if you have and adjust with left hand. Simple...
