Does anyone know what....

"37" means when it appears on the LCD screen of the AM/FM/CB/WX/Tape deck player on a 2001 Ultra?

My radio has been acting wierd. No AM/FM, only the WX, cassette, and "CD" jack functions work. When I try to select AM/FM, the tape deck fast forwards. For the longest time I thought it was pinched wires, so today I loosened everything up and tugged on them real good. I checked the connectors and still have problems.

During all of this testing, "37" popped up on the LCD a couple of times, so now I'm thinking it may be a problem with the unit itself. The problem started last year, about a day after getting caught in heavy rain for 300 miles on the way back from Yellowstone. I know it's had time to dry out.

Right now I am considering sending it back to RadioSound in Kentucky, or changing everything over to the CD player CB unit. But that would mean changing out the center console and I just don't know if it's worth it.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke to John Smith at RadioSound and he helped me diagnose the problem, he thought it was a pinched Violet/Blue wire. Then he told me how to trace the wire.

I did, and sure enough that wire was pinched.
Problem solved, money not spent.

Can't beat that!

And here I was thinking that "37" was a "43" that had never had six.

Just an affirmation of the service Radio Sound and John Smith provide, back in '90 or '91 my radio on the '87 EG literally wore out, mainly the cassette part. I called and talked to John Smith and by then the radio was out dated and they didn't have parts but he suggested that the '94 radio(which was a much better radio/cassette player) would fit into my '87 with some coverting and rewiring. He gave me every HD part number I would need and assisted any time that I needed it, during the conversion. Greatest people to work with, I've ever dealt with, especially Mr. Smith. Too bad HD changed to H/K in my way of thinking.
