2007 Ultra Brake Light Wiring

Han anybody tried installing the Aux running light/brake/turn signal conversion on a 2007 part # 69461-06. My friend installed this on his 2007 Ultra and there was problems with the operation. I have the brake light only turn signal conversion on my 2006 Ultra which has worked fine but when I put it on his 07,again there was problems with the operation. I tried his aux/run/brake/turn on my 2006 and it works fine?

I was wondering if something is different on the 07 to cause this?

You don't say what your problem is, you just say theres a problem.

I learned about the lights on my 07 Ultra the hard way, the turn signals
and 4 ways run through the security computer, the computer controls
the left and right signals and the 4 ways.

I put a trailer hitch on my 07 Ultra and hooked up my trailer lights, they
worked fine. I took it for a short ride with the trailer, when I got home
and unhooked the trailer is when the problems started.

The problem was now the computer was use to the extra load the trailer
had put on it and it adjusted for that, now it could not go back so my
turn signals would flash normal for 4 flashs and then go into a fast strobe
light like flash and stay that way.

My Harley dealer did not know how to fix this, so being a motorcycle
mechanic for over 40 years I decided to take a whack at it. By hooking
an 1157 bulb with both elements hooked together I pluged it into the
trailer plug trying to fool the computer into thinking I hooked the trailer
back up to it. With this they flashed normal again. Some how in my trying
different combo's of flash's I found a code that put the computer back
into the stock mode.

My problem is I don't know what the code ended up being, so now I need
to hook up the trailer again to knock it out of whack again so I can try to
find the code I triped on the first time. I don't know when I'll get to that
as I'm a little busy in my shop right now + I/we wife and I ride alot, we
rode over 50,000 miles in 2005 and we are over 60,000 miles so far for
2006. My Ultra which my wife gave me for my birthday is about 6 weeks
old now and it has over 9,000 miles on it in those 6 weeks. So between
my shop and my/our riding it might be a while before I get back to trying
to figure out the code I triped on.. LOL"

Let me know if you are having the same problem? Because if you are that
would make me look into it quicker to help you out, other wise it is on my
back burner for now.

My dealer installed the H-D 3-way RTB converter before I picked up my '07 Ultra just over a week ago. Their very knowledgeable parts guy said my earlier ('03) H-D 2-way TB converter wouldn't work on my '07. He said they changed the wiring for '07. I assume this is true. My setup works perfectly.

I purchased and Installed the running,brake and signal device from HD for 2007 Ultra, never a problem. You sure you got the right part?

We also thought the security system may be the problem as it is different than 2006. There were a couple of problems with the unit... If I remember there was a problem with the left running light when the brake was applied as being dimmer than it should have been, but the biggest problem was when you turned on the right turn the the two rear turn signals would alternate back and fourth.

As far as hooking up your trailer. Bushtec sell a isolater for their trailers would that help your problem?

Is the H-D 3-way RTB converter the unit they use to offer before the brake running light conversion? If so that is what I have on my 06. We tried that on his 07. The brake lights worked OK but the turn signals did not work properly.

Does your bike have a security system?

If you're asking me, yes....my '07 Ultra does have the new style security system from the factory.

All 2007 Harleys have the security system computer in them
or the turn signals would not work on any 2007's..

Installed the 69461-06 converter on my 07 Ultra with no problems. I do have the Security System along with Smart Siren II.

I would verify if wrong part was packaged in correct box.

My understanding is the 07 Smart Security System is an Option.

Bike comes standard with TSM (Turn Signal Module) in place of Security System module.

No, it is a $325 option.

No you did not!

The security system is in all 2007 Harleys,what you paid for
was the add on's to the security system.

The basic security system is there all ready, thats why if you walk
about 12 feet away from your bike with the key fob in your pocket
and have a friend try to start it, it won't start until you come back
to the bike..

I picked up one of those TS converter boxes off of the display. It said 03 and up touring. It would not work on my EGC but worked on my friends 06 EGC. I took it back and the parts guys said yeah that work you need this one. I don't have the number but the old ones don't work on the 07's and not I don't have no security system.
