Question Front brake problem

Here's one that has me scratching my head...

Front brake lever started getting soft. I checked fluid, bled the brakes (3 times), replaced pads even though I still had miles left on the existing. On one bleed, my friendly wrench even drew the fluid out of the master cylinder using a syringe, then forced it back through the bleeder valve up into the master cylinder to eliminate any possibility of air in the lines.

Now here's the issue...

I have plenty of lever when the bike is on the sidestand. I can squeeze it and hold it with no fade. Immediately after setting the bike upright, the lever goes to the grip and I have to pump it to get pressure. If I pump, then hold, again no fade. Brakes work well. Next time I grab them, same thing, I have to pump once or twice.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

TIA

are there any leaks in the system, did you recheck the bleed to see if air is present again?

Check your brake calipers and clean them. Maybe one or both are sticking.
