Stage II EVO with HD Touring Mufflers?
Thinking of installing a V-Thunder EVL-3010 cam in my 1998 FLHTC Electra Glide Classic. My air intake is the stock plastic airbox with K&N stock replacement filter upgrade and Mikuni round air cleaner cover (the one with the two slots in the bottom for more airflow). My exhaust is the stock headpipes with unmodified Harley-Davidson Touring Mufflers (65259-00). Dynojet kit is in carburetor.
Do you think these mufflers will flow enough for the EVL-3010 cam, or am I going to have a problem?
Seems like they should flow enough since they came stock on the 103" Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide a couple years back. I think my proposed setup should yield a bike with lots of low-midrange torque, but power will probably fall off at the high end due to muffler (and possibly intake) flow restrictions, but as Stuart Smalley used to say on Saturday Night Live....."That's OK!"
