Solo Seat for EG Classic???
Can you guys give me some more manufacters of a solo seat for my EG. The wife has her own bike and I want to clean mine up. I have searched all of the seat threads and am still at a loss.
What solo seat do you recommend and which ones should I stay away from??
I like my seating position now so I dont want to be higher up or closer if that is possible. Thanks for the help guys.

Not sure which ones you have checked out already, but Corbin Solo classic would be my recommendation. Very nice lines to the seat and great comfort for around town or around the country. Mustang may move you more forward and up, something you said you didn't want.

New Seat for EG
I put a Corbin solo on my SG recently. I am still breaking the seat in, but it is way better than the stock seat and it also locks down to protect the battery. A solo seat will also allow you to mount a tour pak using the solo rack and backrest mounts. This puts the tour pak over the rear wheel enhancing stability and giving you a backrest.

If I ever go for a solo seat on an FL model it will be this one, but without the chrome rail. I can't go far these days without a back support so that would be there for sure.

I went with the longer fuel tank console (part no. 71288-02A) and used the RK standard solo seat with seperate passenger pillion. Basically, it is the same tank console used on the FLHX and EG Screamin Eagle models, and avoids the long seat tongue on the gas tank of the typical EG seat.
You could also use the RK seats (HD, Mustang, Corbin, etc.) if you use the leather filler piece HD sells, part no. 52447-96.
Corbin and Mustang both offer solo seats with rider backrests; unfortunately Harley does not--yet.

Just so I understanf this correctly RK's come with a stock seat and a passenger pillion. The Rk seat will fit my Eg and will look great if I get the tank panel?? Any pics or part numbers??
Thanks,

Send me your email address via private message and I will email you pics of the RK solo seat on my 04 EG.
The answer to your question is "yes." With the leather trim piece you can easily mount the RK standard solo seat and also add the passenger pillion.
If you remove your EG two up seat, you will see two bolts projecting from the rear fender. The RK solo seat uses these bolts to attach the rear of the seat; the front of the seat uses a tongue just like the EG seat.
I'll be happy to provide pics via email.

I checked Leperas site and I am not sure if it is a solo seat. I like the seat. Do you have any pics of it on your bike??

The Corbin set-up is a beauty, but if money is an issue (WHAT???) the seat, the rider backrest and the chrome trim will run close to $1K. Only the Corbin backrest works with the Corbin Solo Seat.
Harley does make one Low Profile seat with a riders' backrest feature for $220 on-line at Zanottis or Chicago or Benjys for the tight wads on this forum - (such as myself). P/N 52918-98A. Problem with this Low Profile Bucket seat is that you need to add some kind of filler between the console and the seat, such as a $20 Trim Piece P/N 52447-96 or an extended console P/N 71288-03A for $150.
Not sure if that's the way you want to go. Good luck.

It is a solo, the passenger pillion is removable. I have the pillion for the Mrs and only run with it when she can go for the occasional ride.
I don't have any pics. But I can tell you that all the guys I ride with all comment on how much they like the seat. It definitly is the most comfortable seat I've had so far.

Well I got the corbin on the bike and I am not sure if I like it???? Rode to work today with the new seat and I felt like my neck inbetween my shoulder blades was starting to get into a knot. The seat did move me back a little........Im not sure if this is causing me a problem or not. Maybe I am having to reach a little for the bars. I am going to take a long ride hopefully this weekend and see how it goes. If its not good I will be selling the Corbin.

I have had a Mustang Solo with passenger pillion on for about 20,000 miles now. I love it. Also you can take the pillion off in about two seconds. It did move me back about 2 inches though. Which was great for me at 6'2"
