Polishing the Chrome Heads...

Just finished detailing my 06 Ultra and my fingers are beat up from polishing the heads... anyone have any good tips that would make this easier... say a buffer that runs on a small electric hand tool? or the best bandaids to wear for the cuts and scratches? lol...

Why are you trying to "polish" chrome? It doesn't get any shinier by rubbing on it. Screwing around with a buffer and compounds will only get you scratches. Just keep it clean by washing it.

Well, on chrome that has gotten a bit dirty or stained, I use Nevr-Dull wadding. Then you have to spray the black powdercoated parts of the engine you got it on with S100 Engine Brightener. Then you have to clean the S100 off the chrome. Not worth it unless it's looking ragged, or you're mentally ill.

honestly don't want to polish it all the time... i got some of that Master Formula Metal Gloss and Sealer Gloss that has been discussed on this forum... goes on great... i hope it does help cleaning in the future with the bugs and waterspots... just those heads are a biotch... all i'm looking for is if someone has a helpful tip for running a polish rag into those small areas... can't get much pressure with those giant HD q-tips....
