What's in your spare parts kit?

Planning a couple of very long rides this year and am interested in what other long distance tourers are carrying in their spare parts kit. Thanks in advance.

No parts. Just torx, allen, small socket set, pliers, cresent wrench. That and a cell phone is all I need. Only problem I ever had was the shifter linkage vibrated loose comign back from Milwaukee in '03. Got off on an exit, went to down shift, and nothing. There was a firehouse 2 blocks off the exit. They let us roll the bike in out of the rain and lent me a 7/16" wrench to screw is back in and tight it up.

Windzone tool kit, spare turn signal bulbs, these are in the windzone kit along with extra fuses, Flat tire kit, and a good knife. and just laying in the bottom of the saddle bag is a throttle cable.

hose for oil and fuel, hose clamps, old plug, had to use it. botls of various lengths and washers. Consdiering emergnecy belt. Thinking about repalcing cables with braided and keeping old ones for spare. tire repair kit.

Wonder about voltage regulator, seems to be a common problem.

Anybody who says cell phone, deserve to wait on the side of the road for three hours, and get raped by dealer.

Thinking about bulbs, nut not sure how well they would keep. Also some people will say just go to dealer. Well I been out on weekend. NMothing around. Sure didn't want to wait until Monday. Not to mention some places dealers are few and far between.

I was just a little older than you when I found out It's better to call and pay a dealer enough to get me home than it is to get shot and burried in the woods by a pick up load of inbred f&%$!n hillbillies in the mountains. And I am a hillbilly originally from WV, so don't go there!!! Plus I don't get raped by the dealer as I never go there for anything that I don't need too. No extended warranty, no H-D scheduled $600 maintainance. So if I gotta pay one to fix a flat or a cable or clean birdsh!t off my windshield to get me home, I'm still ahead!!

I think your missing the point. Your more likely to meet an ill fate, waiting on the road for hours, then if you fix it yourself and are on your way.

Not really sure what you are getting at. Better to just sit there and wait patiently, if any bad guys approach show them your cell phone, tell your just waiting for help???

Well if it takes you longer to replace a cable then it does, for the dealer to drive out there and do it for you, then yes your ahead. Better only ride 9-5, check for summers of course.

Problem solved, Glock with extra mags and lots of ammo.

I also carry cell phone, roadside asst card, cash and credit card. That said, I do take a small tool kit, extra plugs, tire repair kit, flashlights, extra snacks and water.

Regards, SSC
