Hells Foundry Striping Kit
Had a little time on my hands, so I decided it would be a good time to install my Hells Foundry striping kit to tie the paint scheme together.
Take a look....
Finished product.............
Not bad, huh?

I like. Do you have more pics? A full frontal would be nice. I'm considering one of these and have seen them with the lowers in pics but no good shots.

New RG Owner
Greetings all,
New Road Glider here...only 1600 miles on it so far. Traded up from 2007 Roadster. Some quick questions that you vet RGers have probably already dealt with:
1. Sound system...what's the best method to listen to tunes? Headset or upgrade the speakers in the fairing? If headset, how expensive is that to install?
2. Windshield forces air right to the top of my helmet. Would like to go up a few inches. Can you recommend a solid quality windshield?
3. Fuel mileage seems to be excellent stock. How much can I expect it to suffer if I to with the remap and high flow a/c?
Thanks all. I'm looking forward to chatting, working, and learning with all of you.

Welcome to the best Bike H-D makes. Sound system upgrades are a real opportunity to spend any where from a small amount to a LOT of money. I decided that the sound system is probably never going to be much more than background sound for me, so I went cheap and just upgraded to the HogTunes direct bolt in replacement speakers. Sound much better than stock, but I still don't have anything approaching high fidelity.
Clearview makes a very nice aftermarket windshield, that is much heavier duty than the stock one and also has a recurve that helps to throw the wind up and over the rider. You would be suprised how little of an increase in height will get the air up and over you. Their products are very much in demand, so be prepared to wait about 5-6 weeks for delivery, right about $220 delivered.
My fuel mileage did not change at all with a stage one package from a company called FuelMoto. Includes a K&N air filter, with a screaming eagle backing plate, slip on mufflers that sound very nice (IMO) with just the right amount of rumble, but not too loud at cruise speeds, and a nice bark as the rpms climb past 3,000, and a PCV fuel manager. Package for me was ~$720, and took me a total of an two hours to install (I'm very slow but through with mechanical installs).
Here's the before and after videos:

After with FuelMoto Stage One:

Do any of you RG guys have rear saddle bag guards installed?? I'm thinking of going that way..but don't really know what the final product will look like.

I put a set of black ones on my 05, they look really good on Black Cherry Pearl. Plus they come in handy on long trips, I reach back and lean on them to stretch my back.

Hello,
I wanted to introduce myself as a new RG owner. I am Motor 134, I'm a motor cop and have ridden my 93 Heritage until recently. I ride a Police Road King at work but just picked up my 07 Pacific Blue Pearl RG two weeks ago. It's all stock but has the chopped tour pak (yes, I've already read it's a poser!!). I absolutely love the bike. I still have the Heritage but have not ridden her since I've gotten the RG. Anyway, cool site, can't wait to read more.

hey all. just one more "noob" on the RG thread.
now here's the question ( without having to read over 120 pages of prior thread postings)..WHEW !
I've just gotten the Flash2Pass grage door opener for my '09 RG, and am faced with the challenge of getting to the black and white wires within the fairing that are the 2 wires that I have to attach the transmitter to. I havent purchased the HD repair manual, and I've read that some say the fairing needs to be removed, and others say that the clear lense can be safely removed without damaging the paint.
So my faith is in asking you all for some insight to the easiest way of installing it.....
AND....
Motor134- some day if you get a chance please cruise by 2317 Duncan Drive ( just west of the VA hospital) and see if my old house is still standing..LOL)

NA, the clear lens over the headlights is easy to get of and on. Get a couple lollypop sticks or plastic sticks of similar size. If you look around the edge between the fairing and the cover, you will see 2 areas on the top and bottom where you can insert the sticks to depress the tabs and pop the cover off.
The fairing isn't too tough to get off. You can leave the windshield on so you don't have to mess with the wellnuts or go to a hardware store and get some new ones. Its the 3 screws down each side plus the 4 acorn nuts for the turn signals. The order of loosening/ removal is:
1. remove screws on either side of the speakers
2. loosen top screws by gauges
3. remove screws on either side of glove boxes
4. remove acorn nuts from turn signals on inside of fairing
5. remove screws loosened in 2 above
lift the fairing slightly and rest on protective material you should have on fender. disconnect the headlight harness.
Installation is the reverse. There are 2 hooks on the front of the radio box that the fairing has to engage and there are alignment tabs along the left and right side of the fairing that need to engage each other. Some folks remove the headlights to better see and engage the 2 hooks, I was lucky and got them to engage without hl removal.
