for years put in their order, only to have some delivered and some not. Their opinion is the MoCo is very tight lipped until official release.
I haven't seen sales numbers, but a bit surprised the RG would be on the chopping block.

I don't get it. Doesn't it make more sense to sell the us the stocker and then sell us all the upgrades like they usually do?

Are we supposed to buy the Ultra & then strip it down?

Windshield Question

I can't figure out which windshield to buy.
When I am riding two up the stock shield's edge is in my line of vision and it has a lot of distortion near the edge.
I'm 5'10" I called Clearview and they recomended the GT small which is 1 inch shorter than stock and has the recurve.
I checked with Cee Bailey about their Euro model and they recomended the 15".
Does anyone have any experience with these shields?
I am looking for the pros and cons.
The Cee Bailey looks cool but I don't want to lose function just for style.

I ride the 15" in cold weather and a shorty in hot weather.
The 15 is I believe Memphis Shade brand. I had the same problem with the stock windshield. No view problems on the 15 either.

I had the same issue with the stock windshield being right in my line of sight. So I got the minus 1 inch Clearview shield and its great. I have a perfect view ahead of me and better protection than the stocker provided in the first place. Looks better and works better. Great product.

Thanks I'm leaning towards the Clearview. Better protection sounds good to me.

Interesting I'd like to get some more info on it from riders who have tried it.

I got a windshield from these guys: http://www.customflhtwindshields.net...indshield5.htm . I think mine is the 11" model. I'm very happy with it. The angle on these is more vertical than stock so I can see over it no problem and it still cuts most all of the wind. I got mine off of ebay. They sell both there and off of their site.

Thanks for all the info. I spoke with John at Clearview again and ordered the GT small with the light tint. I think it will work out best for me.

What would it take to convince Harley to continue making the Road Glide? Maybe a calling campaign, you can't e-mail them from there site but the tollfree number is there. I wonder what they would do if enough people call, what do you think? BM

You can be sure, they're not going to get rid of the Road Glide per se, it will evolve into a "Tour Glide" type bagger. It is far to popular for them to drop the frame mounted bike, it's just that the Road Glide is 11 years old this year in it's current configuration and requires an update.

I'm guessing it will have a 96" engine with extra oil cooling similar to the XR1200, an updated fairing, improve lighting arrangement, tour pack, etc. It should be a great bike, as long as Willie G doesn't go over the cliff in styling, like the Victory Vision.

I'm looking forward to a very exciting Road Glide/Tour Glide/Harley Vision.

I have used both the Klock WFB Flare and the Clearview. IMHO, the Klock windshield is overrated. It is too short and the wind noise will pretty much eliminate you hearing your stereo at freeway speeds unless you have a super loud system. It does push the nose of the bike down, but it is just too short. These low windshields look cool, but they really don't take the wind off of your face. Nor do they block insects (etc.) from hitting you. I now ride a Clearview (medium). It is about an inch over stock and has a recurve. I am about the same height as you and I can see over it fine. However, the material of this shield is thicker than OEM and it is optically very clear. I am EXTREMELY happy with it. Furthermore, I can also hear my stereo much better (I am running an Arc mini amplifier and JM speakers). In fact, the speakers now are almost too loud! The only issue (very minor) is that the shape of the Clearview somewhat interferes with the right-side mirror when you turn the handlebars full lock to the left when parked and trying to lock the bars. The folks at Clearview are aware of this. But it is a very minor issue. Keep in mind that the Clearview is much thicker than stock, so I recommend you use two people to mount the shield as it is very difficult to bend. But once it is on the bike I believe you will be pleased.
