I've just ordered the Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1, and the V & H FuelPak. Would Should I need a stage 1 download from the HD dealer to get the max benefit of these 2 mods (on a 07 RG) ??

V&H has FuelPak settings for stock or stage 1 downloads so save the $$$ for the download and just get the correct FP settings.

I had enough time last night to fit the V&H slip-on from the 08 on. Perfect fit and they sound the same as they did on the 08. I did call V&H tech line and they said there was a difference which is why the different part numbers for the 08 and 09 but I'll be damned if I can see why
I've also got the SE AC on and haven't got the flash done yet. There is no lean stumble or decel pop. My guess is those two changes are within the ECU's ability to adjust. I'm waiting on the CD and Cables for the supertuner. There is a canned package for the AC and slip-ons that I'll load later this week.

I did the stage one on my 2007 springer classic for some unknown reason. Just threw $ in the breeze.
What mark says!
It really smoothed out everything and the bike runs a little cooler.
(looking to buy a 2009 RG is why I am lurking. Economic climate is not so hot for me right now so I can't just jump in!)

Thanks...I'll just let the FuelPak do its thing, and take it from there. Anyone know of a good online site to get V&H true duals and slip-ons? Best price and best shipping...(to Canada) ?

Dennis Kirk is usually pretty good.
Also Wally's Cycle World (I've had pretty good luck with them but I've heard some others with issues).

this is where many have gotten this as did I. It is the one Jeffy Tune on the FuelPak thread speaks highly. Price is/was right...timely delivery.

CB installation on RG
Oldog
I did mine last summer (2007 RG), all my pals had the CB/Intercom on their HD so I ordered all the stuff from my local HD store, something like $1400 CDN, way to much but the wife wanted it and it was safer and easier to stay connected with the group on the way and around Americade.
Can't remember all the names of the units but you must remove the front fairing, put a cloth of some sort on the front fender, remove the srews and unbolt the signal lights, lift and pull back the fairing cause it sits on a couple of hooks, unplug the lights. Fairing is off, screw in the CB radio module (76236-06) on top of the radio unit, plug in.
You'll need a console pod assembly (77136-03) to replace yours cause it doesn't have the headset plug-in. You'll have all of this and the instructions in the Advanced Audio Intercom Unit and Advanced Audio CB Radio Kit.
The one thing I didn't need was Left Handlebar Control Assembly, the stock one on the bike was OK. You'll aslo need two stereo Helmet Headset Kits (77147-91C & 77147-98). You also have to install and connect the CB antenna.
Make sure you plug in everything before you put the fairing back together. You might also need the Intercom Software Flash which the dealer does.
On my RG I don't have speakers in the back so I just made a bracket to hold the passenger Intercom plugin.
Its pretty straightforward, Yves

I could be wrong but I think the 08 uses a different console than the 07. Remember the 08/09 have th 6 gallon tank and the stock console is way different than the 07.
I'll check the parts manual to see what the 08 number is... yup, the H-D on line P&A list the complete console as 77136-08 and that part number is the console for the FLHTCU (ULTRA) so I guess they're all the same across the baggers.

Yves is right, you will need the Software Flash. I installed the CB and associated cables and I had my local dealer install the flash software (Took about 15 minutes for that)
Following the directions, it was a fairly easy install (except for putting the fairing back on!) it came out costing me around $1,000.
With the CB and tour pak with speakers, I have "Ultra-ized" my RG!
