Road Glider,

I'm a newbie w/computers, so I'll try and figure this out, how to do it. I don't even have a computer at my residence...

I'll find a camera that will allow me to take/send picks...

I also had a bad day at the dealership. Long and short:

Picked up my new 06 RG last Sat. (shortly b/4 closing; finally, after making the purchase on 12/27/05) and upon arrival to my residence, I noticed a large primary leak under the bike, in my garage. I was adding chrome and the tag when I noticed the leak. It was bad... My heart went to my throat.

Called the dealership on Monday (they were closed on Sunday; note: the dealership called me shortly after I left, saying they noticed oil on the pavement upon my departure..) and they will pick up today (Tues) to figure out what the problem is. During the night, just a small few leaks. Upon riding, large pools of primary leakage. I'm thinking they forgot to torque the screws or forgot to add a seal. Remember, my bike was at the dealership to add the stage 2 Big Bore kit w/203 cams...

I'll let you know how the rest of story pans out...

Carpe Diem,
BB

bennie, yikes good you got it back to them right away. I suspect they will fix the leak fairly easily but still what a bummer after you just parted with your hard earned cash. Pics request is just that do what you can or want to at your convenience. Let us know how it goes on the oil leak. later, RG

2003 100th aniv.

I have been a member of this sight for a couple years but haven't visited in some time. Thought I'd try to post a photo of my bike. Thanks, Grant.

Found it on page 459 of the '06 catalog with photo thanks. For some reason the stock bars on this '06 and on my prior '02 seemed just right to me. But I do see the difference.

Nice rides, Grant. Is that sand or snow? Kinda looks like the coast of N.C.

Just got my soft lowers from M&M. H-D part #58502-80B. Only $31.50 from M&M but they don't fit the 06 FLTRI worth a crap. Gonna bite the bullet and buy from Canada.

Sand

Thats White sand at White Sands National Park outside of Alamagordo N.M. My Wife and I went there a couple springs ago while it was still winter where we live. (North Central CO. mntns.) Excellant riding in Mtns./ Desert with great roads and NO traffic. We had a blast! Grant.

Good news

Thanks for getting the sticky set up, thought I'd share a recent experience.

Took my 103 build back to the stealer to get it dyno'd (been running rough recently and the dyno was part of the build.) They recommended a HE Performance Muffler as part of the build but now are saying that they can't get the sniffer sensor in it (?) couldn't dyno it and were at a loss for what to replace it with. Just what you want to hear while sitting in the airport! I heard that there is a lack of HD maps for the SERT and the 06 models.

Thankfully I'd ordered and am waiting for a set of 2" recored Fullsacs modified stock slip ons and the stealer agreed to mount them and dyno the bike afterwards to get it dialed in, so now I'm waiting for the mufflers to arrive so I can cart them out to the dealer so they can do their thing. For all the bad press stealers get its good to know they get it right once and a while.

Joe I think you will be happy with those fullsac mufflers, I know I am. There should be no need for a download, the guys can use your SERT and their laptop and custom tune your bike on their dyno if they know what they are doing. That is the beauty of the SERT the ability to make adjustments for any modifications or upgrades you later do to the bike. I would talk to them and make sure they have the tuning experience in house to do this or scoot down the road to the next tuner in your area.

Brake lites on turn signal

I have a 05 RG and would like to make my rear turn signals into brake lites. The HD kit for touring bikes comes with large lens and not the bullet size found on my glide. Has anyone tried the HD kit for Dyna series on a RD. This lens is the correct size.

Keep it on the road

Road Glider,

The same shop did a fine job tuning the V&H 2:1s on my old Dyna and even tweaked the tune a year later so I'm confident they can do it now I'm just drumming my fingers waiting for UPS to deliver the goods!

Smile New to thread

Good day fellow RGs. I'm a new touring rider. I went through a divorce while owning a 99 Sporty Custom. I'm also 6'4" so the Sporty was like a monkey with a football. But I cut my teeth on it for 6 yrs. I bought my 05 RG Black Pearl new for personal therapy from the divorce. And I have loved every mile on it. I bought it in July 05 and put 6K on it until we had an argument with a Subaru and lost. I t-boned it and did a superman over the 4wheeler. I came out with a busted up wrist and a busted up RG.
The damage was the entire front end busted up, tanks, and left saddlebag. I am waiting patiently for it to return from the Hundred Dollar store. I hope to have it by next month and will be riding again.
I've tried to attach pics of the day I bought the RG and the sad day we lost our fight.
I look forward to chatting with all of you in the future. Ride safe, keep the rubber side down and the shiny stuff up!

Joediver, sounds good glad you know they can do the job right for you. let us know how it went and how you like those mufflers.

Homey, Glad you are ok and not hurt worse. Sounds like you are one lucky dude. Sure don't ever want to find out what it is like doing that. Hope the RG get's out soon and your riding this year is more safe and fun.
