Corbin Classic Solo + 50s Pillion : V-Twin Forum: Harley Davidson Forums

Any members running the Corbin Classic Solo with a seperate pillion on a touring model? Been eyeing this combo for several years. Currently running the 1 piece dual tour and totally satisfied with the comfort, but I love the look of a solo and since my wife's health problems in Jan my 2-up riding has waned to about 5% of my overall. The 50s style pillion looks better to me as it sits flat on the fender instead of turning up to give that jacked-up-in-the-back look. Also if she ever recovers I could move to the touring pillion for those special rides together.

Any feedback - or esp. pics of the 50s pillion with the solo - would be much appreciated, as I have never seen this combo live on a bike, or in any pics other than the Corbin Web site.

I don''t have a picture for you, but I had that combo on my old Road King. The 50's pillion is only good for very short rides and then gets uncomfortable fast. If I were you I would stick with just the solo for riding alone, and then add the touring pillion whenever she wanted to ride. If memory serves, the pillion has a tab on the front that slides under the classic solo for quick installs without having to unbolt the solo.

I don't have the 50's pillion, but I have the Classic Solo and put on the touring pillion for the Appalachian Princess. If you'd like a pic of that.

Thanks for the info guys. Will keep that in mind on the 50s pillion. Gray, I'll take you up on that offer for the pics. For some reason the link on your signature brings up a blank page for me. Is the Princess pretty comfortable on the touring pillion?

I'll post one later tonight. I'll have to put it on. Yes, the AP loves it. She calls the pillion on the WG the mini-pad and the touring pillion the maxi-pad.

.......if you're using it, no one can see it. If you are not, the Classic Solo looks great with a naked fender. Big difference for the passenger.

Just a suggestion.

Hey that's okay. Looks GREAT to me. I will definitely get a touring pillion, but I'm actually thinking about getting both - the 50s one too. I've been accused of having more money than I do sense. But not lately, so fire away.
