Hidden radio antenna

Hi, I have orderd a new street glide but dont like the radio antenna which looks more at home on a kids r/c car.Does anyone have experiance of antennas that fit behind the fairing cap? I see Dakota do one and there is one on the eglidegoodies site but wonder what the reception is like with these. As I use the radio more than anything else I dont want to compromise reception. Thanks

Do a search, you'll find lots of reviews on these. Most are positive. Welcome to the board.

I have the Dakota digital and it isn't that great. Maybe try a chopped down version of yours.

I bought 2 foot black fiberglass auto antennas at Auto Zone for $3.99 each and replaced the antennas on my Ultra the day I brought it home. Reception is fine on the radio and CB.

For those of you with a CB: I do not use the CB for transmit purposes, as the SWR is probably through the roof. Heck, I wouldn't use the CB even if the SWR was ok.

I put an antenna splitter on my FLTRI. One end goes to the lead for the tour-pac which is stored under the right cover, when the tour-pac is off (most of the time).

The other end is connected to a hidden antenna that is designed for boats. I found it on ebay. Reception is about 80% of the factory whip, but my S/O is much happier, as the antenna no longer whacks her on the helmet...
