Harley Alarm & siren... Road Glide

So, does anyone else have a Harley siren added to their Road Glide? If so, I have a question. The way mine gets triggered is like this. If its armed and I shake the bike. The alarm blinks the lights and chirps the siren. Shoudn't it set the alarm off? Kind of like a car alarm???? If I turn the ignition on, then it sets the alarm and siren off. Is this normal? Just curious.
Thanks!

I have an 05 Road Glide. If you shake the bike 2 or 3 times it'll set the alarm off, also, if you stand it up straight it definately goes nuts.

The unit is triggered by the bank angle sensor. Try straightening the bike up and shake it a bit. That should trigger the alarm.

Ok, got it.

I will try that tonight. I thought the wiggling might do it, but I guess it needs more aggressive movement. Thanks guys!

It is designed to give a warning chirp if somebody bumps it or starts to move it. If the disturbance is more than momentary it gives a continued 30 second alarm and resets itself.

As said above, the first flash/chirp is a warning. If you check your owner's manual, there are ways to change the sensitivity and other alarm system settings.
