Is the solid gasket all you need?

Looking up gaskets for the derby cover and service chain, I'm seeing different gaskets for the same bike on the derby cover?

The chain cover just shows a simple choice.

What are you working on?

The earlier units work well with the flat silicone printed gaskets.

The later ones work good with the molded silicone seal ring. Just don't pull it out of the grove. For some reason, some of them refuse to sit back down in the groove after being pulled out.

32 bucks in gaskets.

Need to check the cam tensioner and primary tensioner.

Mine came original with 'quad' gasket which was rubber o-ring that fit into groove. As time went on that became obsolete and dealers handed me the black flat solid gasket with silicone seal. Over the years both worked fine for me - and I re-used them through multiple oil changes. Just took the time to clean them up (and seating surfaces), inspect and reassemble.
