Leaking TourPac/Bags

Rode back this weekend from the DOH Rally in a driving rain storm. When I got home everything in my tourpac and saddle bags on my bagger was soaked. I have a '02 Ultra and nothing has been altered/modified on either the pac or bags.

Short of packing everything in plastic bags, does anybody have any suggestions??? Has anybody replaced/modified the seals on the bags???

Don't know what to think. I have been in some real "toad chokers" on my old FLT and never had any tour pac or sadle bags leak.

The fact that all of them leaked is unusual, and seems to eliminate the potential simple reasons like a latch being loose.

You might try removing the bags, plug any attachment holes, fill them with water, and invert. You might see where the leaks were. But all of them leaking is strange.

FXRP, thanks for the suggestion. I tried your suggestion with both bags yesterday and they both leaked around the front edge. I visited with the HD service mgr and he told me that he'd seen some of the seals leaking on several bags lately. He ordered new rubber for both sides. As far as the tourpac don't know what the issue is there. Am going to get out the power washer today and clean the bike. Am going to try and replicate a little of the rain and see if and where it leaks.

I also agree it's very strange. I've been in some extended mileage gully washers on mine in the course of 76,000 miles and have never had a leak yet. Maybe HD switched type of manufacturer of the seals or some were made with a defect.
