New floorboards

Added the Kuryakyn ISO floorboards for rider and passenger on the Ultra today.

Now they match the ISO hand grips, shifter pegs, brake pedel pad and mini wing highway boards.

Great quality, fit and finish.... these put the HD floorboards to shame.

Cool

Very nice looking Dave. Now I know what they would look like on my Ultra.
My biggest problem is I love to lay the bike over on it's sides and I know I would grind the hell out of the right side big time
You should see the one on the right side now, the dealer the other day, thought I was nuts when he saw it
List price=$300, what did you give for them?

Mark,

I paid $250.00 for front boards, they list at $299.95

I paid $150.00 for the rear boards, they list for $189.95.

I grind them up too, but what the heck !!!

DaveT,

First, are you still healing, OK?

The Kuryakyn boards look great. That's their brake pedal too, isn't it?

Hey DaveT,

First, good looking boards that you have there. That White Knight just keeps getting better looking everyday.

Secondly, I see you have a center stand. How hard/easy is it to use? With your "Bambi" injury, can you still use it by yourself or does it require a full head of steam to get it up on the stand?

Let us know when the second maiden voyage is scheduled.............

Buffy,

Yep, that is the Rivco Products Center Stand. In response to your question about ease of use.... right now I am not able to use it al all by myself. My son was home from college this weekend and he put it up for me. The stand requires a person to put full weight on the center stand 'leg' with their right leg, then pull up and back on the left rear crash bar and the left handlebar. Normally I would not have a problem, but it was my lower right leg that was so severly injured and I can not put that kind of pressure on it right now.

Hopefully the second maiden voyage will be sometime around mid-April.

OldMic,

Thanks, and yes I am healing !! Slower than I would like, but it is coming along. Walking pretty good now, but still have a good deal of pain when I have been on it too long. Doc thinks another six weeks and I should be good to go !!

The bone graft back in October was a success, so much bone is growing that it is causing the leg to swell and it is putting pressure on the 13 inch steel plate that they put in after the accident. The bottom 3 screws have all snapped in half, but the doc does not seem to worried about them because the bone is grafting to the back side of the plate. When they broke, the plate slipped down a little and the rounded edge on the bottom is actually rubbing against the top of the ankle bone. That is what is causing the pain. The doc said that the plate is cutting a groove into the top outside edge of the ankle bone, he figures the pain will stop once that has stopped.

So.... the wait continues..... but there is light at the end of this tunnel !! I just hope there are no more deer in the tunnel before I reach the end, LOL !!

He FIGURES the pain will stop! Ha! That's because he isn't living with it.

I hope you know that we only wish the best for you, but I have always felt that unnessary pain is unacceptable in anything.

Keep us posted "when the pain stops", I'll have a cold one to celebrate with you.

I'm curious about the ISO boards. My wife would like our FLT's passenger floorboards buzz her feet less.

Do they make a difference or are they more cosmetic? How dio they work? Kuryakyn's website doesn't explain the benefits very well.

I had the rider floorboards on my fat boy and loved both the looks and the feel. I have a new RK Custom and as soon as the weather breaks i'll see if the boards on the Custom are better than the standard HD boards. If not, I'll go with the Kuryakyn ISO boards again in a heartbeat.

DaveT,

The additions look great on your ride, plus I'm glad to hear you'll be out on her and that you're healing up.

I noticed when you posted the prices you paid for all your floorboards/pegs, they were less than what Kuryakyn has posted on their site. Do you mind if I ask where you purchased them from. I've been leaning towards their peg series and after seeing the photos on your bike, I see how great they all look, so I want to add them to my Electra Glide as well.

Thanks,
Stones
