JDwiz wants to know Dino or Syn?
evo will not crank

Ive got a 1990 FLHTC. 105000 mi. At the end of last season, lifter roller bearings went thru oil pump. Tore down, cleaned, replaced pump, cam, lifters, pushrods, cyl & pistons, heads. Running SS carb.Screamin Eagle ignition. Motor cranks over fine without plugs, great oil pressure. Put plugs in, nothing. Got new battery, nothing.New starter, same. Jumped off truck, cranks real slow. What am I missing? Riding season almost here need help.
The heads I put on were HD reman heads thet had interts put in them where the breathers would go on late Evos. Could these heads be causing my problem?

Sounds like you are losing voltage under load. Did you check to make sure both ends of all high amperage cables are good and that they are tightend up on clean connections ? I've found cable ends pulled loose before .

Start with the simple stuff. ground and battery connections. check voltage while cranking. your head and piston combination could be giving you too much compression. jumping a bike with a car or truck can damage voltage regulator.

I agree here.. check the simple stuff first... if that's OK time to think about compression. Allthough I doubt that is the problem...I have compression releases on my 02 RK b/c of high compression but the starter will turn the engine over even if I don't engage them.
