1995 electra glide ultra classic

i am looking at trading my 03 wide glide in on a 1995 bagger. mainly because i have always wanted a bagger and it will drop my payments alot. partly cause i am going to build this http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/ch...tax-motor.html

does anyone have any advice about what i should think about before buying an evo bagger.

Find the best one you can and buy it. The Standard and Classic are great rides also, especially if you don't really use all of the extra bells and whistles.

odo says 88 thousand but it runs and drives like its new. no power failure, no sputters. cold starts better than my twin cam...
of course my twin has a hell of a lot done to the motor.

Should be pretty much trouble free for another 120k miles. Buy and enjoy.

Kinda' wish I had kept my '94 Classic. Same color scheme. That bike was bulletproof.

well my next step is deciding what im going to replace the radio with. the one in that one is all worn out and wont work. really thats the only problem. i also wish i could find a way to replace the inner faring with the newer style one. any sugestions?

1995 is the last year for that type of inner and outer fairing so finding replacements in the future may be fun. The version they switched to in 1996 is still in use. Edit: (Sorry just read your last post from this morning.)

There are many items specific to just 1995 and 1996 EGs. Some of the big ones that I have found so far are the seat and tank. I snatched a tank off eBay to stick in the attic, just in case. Watch out for ads that say things fit those specific years.

With 88,000 miles on it I am going to assume it already has the alternator plug retainer installed. If not, I'd put one on. They didn't come stock yet and it may be ready to work itself loose.

Just a few things I have learned with my '96.

Yup, in '96 they changed the frame slightly for a 1/2" lower seat height as well as the fairing changes. Still have my Aqua '95 Classic and ride it often - Mustang seat, EV-27 cam, Progressive 412's, Fullsac 2-2 w/ Pythons and 50K+ miles. (There's more but I'll stop with that.)
Thought about selling it a couple of times but it's just too comfy and 'right' to get rid of.
