Find a different dealer, I picker up a new 13 limited in October for 24.4K OTD.

That's exactly the question I asked but it included WTF!!!

He says..."Oh HD lists that price but it's just for a real BASIC bike and these have extras" then he says "It's like getting a bare bones car and then upgrading"

It was your typical dealer BS story, but it musta' gone beyond the salesman and clear to the top, because it was right on the tag hanging from the handlebars.

They might have got away with that $hit back during the boom, but it's hard to believe it would fly now...

Doesn't much matter anyway, if I make the big decision, I'll buy used any-hoo

Ahhh...I don't think that is happening.

Somebody is jacking prices if this is the case, I just bought a 2013 110th anniv FLHTK at 26,000.00 with no freight/setup fees and the bump between a 2 tone and an anniv bike was something like 600.00...sounds like your shopping at the wrong stealership...just sayin.. I went to Cox's H-D in Rock Hill S.C. and bought it from Bart Farmer (sales mgr) local dealers on anniv bikes were on par with what you saying,,not quite that high, but close..

I paid 22,600 for my 2012 Limited this past Sept. plus tax,I guess its something to do with the size of the 2013 allotment.

Very few minor changes between 09 and 13 as stated. I suggest you look for good deal on a low mileage 09 model. If you want, you can update the head breathers and compensator for a few hundred bucks. That's what i did on my 09 Street Glide. I prefer the 09 models because they don't have cats in the exhaust, unless it's California bike.

Wait!!! Are you telling me that an '09 CA-bike WILL have a catalytic converter??? I thought H-D moved to cats everywhere at the same time. I've been shopping for an '09, mostly because of this issue. But I live in CA. Are you SURE about this???

Yep, I totally agree. I love my 09 flhtc. There is a ton of difference between your 05 flhr and and a 09 or later flht. I am sure you would not be sorry if you make the change. If I were you I would look on ebay, find something close enough to go look at before you bid. I have had good luck doing that.
