Cable change for T-Bars on a Road King?

Ive got an 07 FLHPI (RK Police bike). I wnat to replace the stock Handlebars with 8" T-bars. I know that you can use H-Ds 7" Street slammers without changing any cables but could I put on 8" T-bars with out changing cables? If I do, How do I determine how long they need to be?

Thanks ALL!

When i changed the bars on my Softail years ago i had the same delima. I ordered the bars first without any cables...then mounted the new bars so i could measure for proper cable length. You can use a piece of rope and follow the cable routing - then measure for length, or just compare the measurement with your stock cable and see how much you are over. I know this will cause extra down time while waiting on the new cables but i did it over the winter so no big deal. I don't know any other way to do it unless you can get advice from someone who has installed the same bars on the same bike. Who are you getting the bars from? Some of the distributors can also give you advice on cable length.
