Big Radius 2 into 2 on a Ultra Classic? : V-Twin Forum: Harley Davidson Forums

Hey all....I am on the edge of getting pipes for my 2008 Ultra Classic. Of course since I bought the bike I was going to install the V&H Big Shots as typical with most electa glides that I see, but I saw that V&H sells the Big Radius 2 into 2 for the touring bikes. I like the big shots a lot due to the contemporary looks of the setup (duals out the back), but I also come from a background of custom bikes like bobbers and short LOUD exhaust. I like how the big radius pipes sound, but I'm wondering if they look out of place on a UC.....

Your opinions please........

One of my best ridin buddies just bought a tequila orange 2012 Ultra Classic. Did a bunch of add ons including the Vance & Hinds Big Radius 2 into 2s. They look great. He had 1/3 of the baffles cut out before installing them so they sound great as well. I was planning on using them on my new bike until I ended up with CVO SG with extended bags that are formed around the mufflers. Anyhow I and all the rest of our gang like the looks of the Big Radius pipes on the Ultra. Go ahead and pull the trigger!!

I did it!! I ordered them today and I can't wait! My wife doesn't see what all the fuss is about, but I told her it like you coming home with a new purse and being all excited.....I personally don't give a damn!!

So folks, what else did you get done to the bikes with these pipes?

Did you remap the bike with a STAGE I, use a third party fuel manager system (FUELPAK or POWER COMMANDER), new air cleaner, etc? Anything you didn't do at first that you decided to do afterwards?

Sounds good but way to loud for me to put up with all the time. Looks good too! I do not like the look of only one pipe on a bagger, i.e. 2 into 1. If I was still into loud, I would seriously consider this exhaust! Very nice.
