markmgm wants to know Dino or Syn?
Question From power duals to 2-1 ( D&D Fat Cat )?

Just wanted to get an idea of what rider(s) might have noticed
over all, when if if you have changed from a dual/power dual exhaust
on your bagger to a D&D fat cat....

It's cold and snow and such, and too much time to think about
bike stuff.... oh- no..... ( Mr. Bill )- thinks he may want to
change the pipes for Spring.

Thanks,

Mark

I've had good results from the Fat cat. I normally try to use the quiet baffle version as the standard baffle has a much sharper tone. Either baffle performs well when properly tuned. Any 2-1 pipe should give you gains in low and midrange. Supertrapp is another good choice.

great pipe and performance, it's loud if you can't stand bark try something else, I like it.
better than D&D is thunderheader best sounding pipes but look is weird and quality is kind of cheap. (my brother has it , I went with D&D no regret )

For a touring bike I would think about the Supertrapp Supermeg.
Can be adjusted for sound levels and the power gain is very good.

Quality and fit are excellent

Hard to say without knowing what your swapping the exhaust on.
stage 1 or 2 on a 96 ci up to some 107's you will see some gains in lower rpms
and a little more power under the curve.
bigger ci and you are going to see the fatcat choke it down, and the power duals make more peak hp/tq.

Can't beat the D&D with the performance baffle.

I was on the phone with Dragos today discussing this exact thing for my 120R build. He said although there are a few horsepower to gain from the 2-1 your not likely to notice it in the butt dyno.

Basically advised me that if I like the way true duals sound, stick with that.

I like the look of true duals / power duals ........

I would not mind even more torque under the curve LOL

Thanks,

Mark

I've ran true duals , 2-1-2 and 2-1 , 2-1 you get more low end torgue and the bike gets up and goes , I'm running a Bassani Road Rage II , had a guy at the shop do same exact build as mine with the D & D , the curves were very similar , if I was to buy another 2-1 I'd buy Drago's Dragula , it looks good turns impressive numbers at at $650 it's priced right and sounds good

C-Cat wants to know Dino or Syn?
I've seen a tq dip in the midrange with the FC on Baggers. I run D&D on my Dyna and like every thing about the quality, fit, perf., however just can't over look the bagger TQ dip. My good friend owns a superflow dyno and he's been using V&H PP HO on all of is 103 builds and the VH PP HO out performs the FC hands down.on a bagger, just doesn't lok as good IMO. I'm going to run VH Power Duals with Crusher mufflers on a 107 (2011 RGC) I'm doing this winter. Not worried about #'s, just like the look and sound, not to mention it should'nt be a slouch in the performance dept.

2 into 1 will get better torque across the rpm range, generally speaking. Good for a touring bike.

See
