fuel leak help! fuel fitting leaking

I'm putting my bike together after doing extensive repairs, and the very last thing before connecting the battery was to connect the fuel supply line to the quick disconnect on the tank.. I did that, and there's fuel dripping out between the line and the chrome fitting. It appears seated all the way in there, but noticed there's a groove in the supply line, is an O ring supposed to be on that? I don't remember one there when I removed it though.. help!!

the o ring is in the female connector. you either have rolled it and pushed it up and out of its groove.,or it has a nick or cut etc.
if it isnt nicked you can pull it out,put a little lube on it,flip or twist it inside out. put it back up in the connector and try again,

Well, it's fixed. Here's what I did:

1. tried and tried to get old oring out with a pick, finally got it out with compressed air and a blow gun, found the oring broken!
2. went to dealer, they didn't have it listed and wanted you to buy the whole quick disconnect for the tank. I brought the O ring with me and they matched it up, turns out it's the same oring as the drain plug o rings!
3. That single O ring didn't fix it, so I went back to dealer, and they found that the fuel supply line I had on my bike was redesigned, due to leaks (go figure!).
4. Put in new fuel supply line, took all of 30 seconds, and bike has no leaks, and runs great!

I placed the old oring over it, it was the same circumference and width, and fit perfectly..

And the after picture...

Parts replaced:

3. Front Glide Pro Engine Mount
4. Glide Pro Swing Arm Shaft and Bushings

I noticed a nice, and welcome difference with the glide pro stuff, bike feels much better

Miceracs wants to know Dino or Syn?
How useful these forums are, I have just replaced my fuel line from tank to injector block. Loaded with fuel for first time and I got the same leak...Time to check this o-ring thing then, I did wonder if a washer would be involved. WIll check tonight and if necessary give my friendly John Deere supplier a call. Hopefully save me $$$.

My o-ring is up the top of the female bit. is this right?
I'll only damage it trying to get it out.

Is the ring supposed to be in the grove of the fuel line?

I assume no harm getting another ring and have the two!

any comments from the experts?
