SoCal harley wants to know Dino or Syn?
Can't get slip on exhaust off....

I got Rinehart slip ons, want to take them off, got the bracket off and the manual says twist and pull exhaust off. Well I am pulling and it only budged about half inch. It moves back and forth like it wants to come off, but it wont freaking come off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've run into this several times. Ain't no fun at all. I just keep working it back and forth, in and out until it breaks free. They're such a snug fit that the tiniest amount of crap between them acts like cement. Good luck. Maybe somebody will give you a better answer.

Have to work it , I've even used a 2x4 and put it at the brackets where you bolt under baggs. Then some sort of never seize when installing..

Spray a little WD-40 or so into the front between the muffler and the pipe.
Let it soak for a while and work with the pipe some more.
It will come off but may take a little more persuasion.

This anti seize tip really worked for me...wish i had known on the original install.

First time i took them off, took forever just wiggling and pulling. I put anti seize on last time, and they came off within 30 seconds this weekend.

WD40 and then just keep wiggling'.

When you put 'em back together put a little coat of anti-seize where they overlap and next time it won't be so hard to get 'em off!

A rubber strap wrench can help. almost like unscrewing them from the headpipes. Twist back and forth and pull. I've fought with them for an hour or so before. WD-40 or other lube helps.

PB Blaster works good.

I'd be real cautious about using an open flame around any gasoline powered vehicle. I use a heat gun.

lube oil, and use a scrap 2x4 as a drift on the front of the slipon, hitting the board with a hammer, while someone else pulls off the muffler.

really like the never sieze idea. Will do next time.

Dawn dish soap works well for lube also. Use just like WD40.
