Smile Whiskey Barrel Trailer

Hi folks, just thought i'd show you what i get up to on the other side of the pond in UK.

Here's my old 95th Heritage Springer with my Jack Daniels whiskey cask trailer, one of many that i have built and i do have another one in build at the moment.

Let me know if you'd like to see other pictures of the trailers i've built.

Seems like a good way to get pulled over in every town for a breathalyzer. I hope you're not in a hurry to get anywhere.

What is the finish, lacquer, spar varnish, or something else. Looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. I didn't see any door, does one end or the other open?

Whiskey Barrel Trailer

Thanks for your great responses guys. To answer some of the questions;

Dimensions: typically these weigh around 85kg (around 180lbs). European law allows 150kg max weight, 2.5 metres rearmost to centre of rear axle & 1 metre wide.

Finish: the finish is 6 coats of yatch varnish but you have to leave it out in the rain from time to time for the joints to expand tight. Various ways of cutting an opening, look closely and you can see?

Contents: These are 56 gallon American white oak bourbon barrels (they all end up in Speyside for the Scotch whisky trade! note - whiskey loses the 'e' when it becomes Scotch whisky). If you look at the image at Ben Nevis you can see a 'wee stream' running from the barrel - i had a container of cheap whisky just inside the barrel that i'd leave dripping.... pretty cool eh?

Other Pictures:

- My Electraglide with Guinness barrel - great high speed barrel!
- My glide with harley X90 being loaded - i rode this 2,000 mile to HOG rally in Germany, amazing 'head scratching' reaction from German police
- My old Road King with Glenmorangie trailer at Glenmorangie Distillery, Tain. And another at UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis.
- My good lady on Road King with Kruze Sportster trailer which will be doner chassis for next whisky cask trailer

Hope you enjoy them, but shout up if you want to see more?

Nice workmanship! My better half loves the Guinness trailer. Do you have more photos of that one? Great job!

Guinness Trailer

There you go Lazeyace, this first one was shot on the harbour at St Tropez, France - parked next to Mr Carlsberg's yatch. He liked the craftmanship but not the Guinness logo for obvious reasons...

Me and the boys rode from St Tropez up along the ultimate switchback road in Europe, the Col du Torino up and over the Alps. The second image was shot at 11,200ft just outside Bourg St Maurice.

Great views...

Is the Guinness unit chrome or highly polished aluminum?

It's polished 316 stainless steel -it was a brand new beer keg, i chopped the end off it and plugged the connector. Quite an easy job really, polishing only took a few hours with a basic power drill & mop kit.
