Dead 2010 Road Glide

So yesterday I rode my 2010 Road Glide to a store that was about 25 miles away. Went in spent about ten minutes inside, came out turn the ignition on and the lights and radio came on but the fuel pump didn't and the engine light didn't come on. So I checked all the fuses and such no luck. Wouldn't you know it this is the one time I forgot my cell. After about five minutes tried it a agin and it worked. Any ideals? It is only a week old and Wendsday it is going in for the 1000 mile but I was just wondering if anyone else seen or heard of this.
Thanks

get a service manual and follow the fuel pump circuit in the main harness wiring diagram and check all connections at connectors, grnd stud ect. Might want to get the dealer involved since it is a new bike. keep us posted.

Bike is under warranty. Take it back to the dealership and give them hell.

Do not spend any money on a service manual for this like the above poster says. It's not your problem to fix.

While I certainly agree with mountain man regarding "it's not your problem to fix", I also take exception to his statement about not spending money on a service manual. The service manuals are great reference tools for understanding your bike and working on them when you want to. A person doesn't have to rip things apart, and thereby voiding their warranty, in order to come to an understanding of how their bike operates. For some of us who like to tinker, it's great reading.

Is it me, this board, or does it seem like Harleys are having an incredible amount of stupid electrical problems?

For me the service manual is invaluable especially for electrical problems. However , if reading/following a wiring diagram is a problem
you might be better off taking the bike to a shop although the dealer
will liklely have trouble reproducing the problem which may result in you making multiple trips.

Thanks for the replys. I agree about the service manual being invaluable, I am going to let the dealer have first crack at this. I have to say this is a first as how new it is, I have an09 Fat Bob and haven't had any issues. I try to look at it there are thousands of parts made by who knows so for them all to be perfect for everyone all the time would be unheard of, so I will let you know what the dealer says after Wednesday.

They do...but 9 times outta 10 its owner or dealer messing it up in the first place. I just fixed a 2009 street glide that had intermittant loss of power. Took that ground cable that was LAYING on the battery and bolted it down and all was good. Even got a 40 dollar tip.

Diggerpine here; Have you tried changing the battery in your key fob? My brother in-law had a similar problem. He found out that the battery was on the way out and changed it out. I think the battery number is a 2032. After he changed it. It started right up.

Ride Safe!

I agree that 9 of 10 problems are caused by someone monkeying with the electricals when installing accessorys or self maintenance. The factory service manual is a great accessory! Probably the first one a bike owner should purchase. I also thought that maybe the kill switch was either off or between positions. I once had a Heritage that did the same thing. I did not have the ignition switch completely in the on position.
