Wiring Harley Touring Light Bar/Passing Lamps

I have a 2006 Roadking FLHRI. This bike has the turn signals on the handlebar and small passing lamps on the lower forks. I recently purchase a Harley stock passing lamp/turn signal bar and need some wiring help. From what I have read, most of the wiring should be inside the headlamp. Any help would be appreciated.

If all the stock switches are functioning, you should be able to pull the directional wires back through the headlight shell and run them to the light bar. Take your time and use a 12v test light to check the circuit for R &L if you get confused.

I have (2) switches on the post, the left one presently turns on the low mounted running lamps. I am hoping that the right switch is wired also and not used and I will be able to use it for the new passing lamps and just connect the turn signals where the present ones are connected now.

Sounds about right. 1 switch is a spare.

That is the way the dealer I bought mine from had it rigged. I have since changed out my bars and went to stock RK switches, didn't like those extra red buttons!

If you're gonna replace the present running lights the switch that controls them is the one I'd use. Especially if it's a yellow wire for the hot. With the now passing lights on and if you turn high beam headlight on the passing lights should go out. If that happens thats what I'd use.. When you bought the new light bar did any instructions come with it ?? It's not a hard wireing project, If I can do it anybody can.. Good Luck

No, no instructions. I bought it off eBay. Didn't think it would be too tough. There are 2 plugs on the new light assy, 4 wires in ea. plug. I am pretty sure (3) in ea. plug are for the turn signals, and (1) in ea. plug is for the passing lamp...? If that's the case, I am pretty sure I know where to cut and splice to hook them up.

Success. I got the new light bar mounted and wired. I was able to use an existing plug from one of my accessory switches and just pulled out those pins and installed the pins/wires from the new light. Thanks for everyone's advise.
