2010 Ultra Classic Limited

Hello all,

I've checked internet sites, H-D publications, magazines, and I've asked some H-D reps and I cannot find the answer...

Does anyone know/confirm if the Limited has the 103" Stage I kit standard or does it have the 103" Stage II kit w/the 255 cams? The Limited does not have "Screaming Eagle" inscripted on the heads, leading me to believe the Limited only has the Stage I kit w/out cams.

I had the 15 yr anniversary Fatboy w/the 95" from the factory, but it did not come stock w/the 203 or 204 cams... It only had the Stage I upgrade w/out cams?

I'm thinking the Limited comes standard from the factory w/the
103" Stage I kit w/out cams. Can anyone confirm this?

Lastly, I also noticed the 103" Big Bore kit from H-D no longer has the "Screaming Eagle" script on the Heads. It appears only the
110" has the SE inscription on the heads...

B/R,

BB

The LTD is the a Stage 1 103". The Moco doesn't use SE scripted heads on its 103" as installed from the factory. One thing I find interesting is they rate the 103" at 101ft/lb torque @ 3,500 rpm, this with the stock heads and stock cams which they used on the 96". The 103 they used to put in the CVO's was rated at the same torque level and it was equipped with the 253 cam and other than stock head. Makes one wonder if the older 103's sucked that bad or their cooking the numbers on the new 103's.

I wouldn't even consider it a stage one since it comes with the same restrictive air cleaner and pipes as other stock bikes. I agree with you on possibly cooking the numbers.

My guess is just a 103".. I was at dealer and was asking about the downloads Harley recomends after High Flow and exhaust instalation, and couldn't answer me. But he new enough about the motor that wanted to sell me a cam. I'm not sure what comes with the Stage 1 or 2 kits.. I was trying to get an answer on what the differaces were from a 1 or 2 download.. He wanted to sell a SE Tuner also.. I'm still learning who to listen to......

Based on everyone's reply, I'd say the way to go if you want to upgrade the factory performance is to have your dealership install the Big Bore Stage II kit w/cams, in order to maintain your warranty and reliability, eh?

In other words, you are better off building your bagger the way you want it, as opposed to ordering a Limited w/the Stage I 103".

I want cams in my bike so I can get some semblance of decent acceleration out of my heavy bagger...

Agreed?

Best,

BB

The Limited 103 is just more Cuin compared to the TC96. It has the sam rather restrictice A/C as a stock TC96. A god improvement would be a set of SE255 cams and an AC ... That would make it identical to the 103 Cuin Stage 2 kit offered for the tc96 - just for less $ both in parts and labour. That combo usually gives you 85-88 RWHP and 105-110 Torque (topping at LOW rpm) - depending of exhausts chosen

Your right, I forgot the restrictive AC they come with, pipes are a coin toss unless your looking at a good performance exhaust such as a 2:1.

I have the 103" Stage II kit (SE255 cams) and there is no "Screamin' Eagle" inscription on the heads. I really didn't want that on there, as I'm not trying to advertise that, and I was delighted to see it isn't there.

I don't know if that's a change from 2010 but when I asked my parts manager, he said the inscription WOULD be there, and I was happy to see he was wrong.

Are you sure this is true?

The kit comes in at 10 to 1. I'm not sure the compression would be the same just putting the cams in. If it's lower it might be better since 10 to 1 is a little high and the tuning needs to be spot on to keep from pinging.
